|There are many things that I like about Mosswood Cafe in Boonville. One is that it has a better atmosphere than The General Store.
I like the General Store because they serve breakfast now, and because they are open every day, and because the staff is ever friendly. They do a great pizza and they have outstanding bread they bake on site. Their deli selection, especially the cheeses, is also excellent.
The Mosswood has the New York Times and other papers and the General Store has nothing except the AVA and the New Settler, I think it is.
But the thing about the Mosswood is that it is slipping. When they started to put masking tape on the milk and cream containers, I got really worried.
The former owner was very sensitive about presentation. They were a little less than charming, but the decor and the food (especially the weekend brunch) were impeccable. Those omelets rivaled anything in the Bay Area.
